One of my favorite vintage items EVER. Dark chocolate brown boots with quilted caramel tan leather ‘dripping’ from the top and matching piping down the front. Lusciously soft featherweight calfskin, exquisitely made, though there are no maker’s marks or tags anywhere. Leather sole with rubber foot and heel pads, satin interior lining. The family story is that the original owner saw these displayed in the window of a small artisan shoemaker in Italy and had these made for herself. I believe it.
Structured leather bag with a tooled leaf design and tortoise plastic and brass handle. Dark brown leather whip-stitch finish. Turn lock clasp front. Interior is lined with dark brown leather. Signed on the bottom: "Hand carved by Hazel V. Elsner"
Shiny but not-quite-patent leather uppers with a high vamp in a faux braided leather cutout design. Leather lined, leather soles and heel tips, molded plastic heel. The labeling on the insole reads "By Johansen, Smartest Since 1876" (the maker) and "Feinstein's Bootery Inc., Aberdeen's Style Center" (the store.)
